“The Avalrys once said the Synvari were demons; horrible creatures sent to tempt us into our own doom and destruction. Surely, their coming rocked our world to its core, completely changing a land that was once fertile and twisting it into something new, something… expressive. That’s the core of what the Synvari were, too; creatures of heart, of expression. I learned this well from one of their kind, who I one day took as my wife. Her skin was red, covered in tiny scales, with dark ebon horns curling out from her skull. Her hair the colour of deep crimson lifeblood, with lips to match it. A Fireheart Synvar, she called herself. She was a woman of passion like no other. Fire drove everything she did. She was quick witted, impulsive, and extremely passionate. She had a temper that could not be tamed. To those around her, she brought out their own passions and desires, and lit flame to them. She was an inspiration to creators and crafters, and she was a lover the like that could not be forgotten.
Where the Avalrys sought to tame our minds and thoughts, the Synvari worked to fuel and bolster our hearts. If they are the ones to bring about our destruction, then I shall walk willingly into the maw of the apocalypse, my heart wide open.”
